"When a probationary firefighter first enters the fire service, they are truly starting a new chapter which will undoubtedly be the most exciting act of their lives," Hansen said. "They will be entering an entirely new way of life and with it, adding a second family that is extremely large to say the least. Here they will spend the next 25-35 years trying their very best to live up to the oath they take when they raise their right hand and promise to protect and serve the citizens of Milford."
