Milford Firefighters Rescue Person From Burning Building

Firefighters rescued a person from a burning building in blackout smoke conditions Wednesday night.

MILFORD, CT — It was a busy night for Milford firefighters as they extinguished a burning vehicle fire and rescued a person trapped in a burning home.

Crews were first dispatched to the burning vehicle on Woodmont Road around 10:30 p.m. A van had fully caught on fire inside a building. Firefighters cut down a garage door and quickly extinguished the blaze, according to Milford Professional Firefighters.

Crews then went to a burning residence at Lyda Drive around 10:56 p.m. Firefighters rescued a trapped occupant on the second floor from black out smoke conditions.
