Milford GOP Doesn't Nominate Mayoral Candidate, Still Blasts Blake
See a full list of candidates below that have been put forth by the Republican Party.

Written by Matthew Gaynor, Milford Republican Town Committee Chairman
The Milford Republican Town Committee held its municipal candidates convention on July 19 2017. We did not nominate a candidate for Mayor. Several people were in talks but pointed out that Milford will have a tax increase next year. State aid for municipalities will decrease. Mayor Blake recklessly passed a budget without thinking ahead. The Democrats on the Board of Alderman rubber stamped this poor judgement.
He factored in Milford seeing $8,500,000 back from the state for ECS. The governor's budget has us receiving nothing. The money being returned is based on a "conversation" that we have yet to see any proof of. Further he reduced contributions to the benefits package and existing debt.

This does not make it go away. As we will discuss in the coming months, Mayor Blake and the Democrats on the Board of Alderman put the citizens of Milford in a precarious position. Blake seems to be taking his cues from Hartford and ignoring the long term fiscal health of Milford. Instead he wants to play politics.
City Clerk Joanne Lasse Rohrig was nominated for a third term by Registrar Deb Fellenbaum and seconded by State Rep Pam Staneski. We look forward to having Joanne continue in her role as City Clerk. She has done an excellent job in the office. Her record speaks for itself.
