Milford High Schools Among CT's Top 50: Niche
Both Jonathan Law and Joseph. A Foran high schools ranked among the top 50 in the state, according to the latest Niche rankings.
MILFORD, CT — Both Jonathan Law and Joseph A. Foran high schools ranked in the top 50 for Niche’s annual best Connecticut public high schools list.
Jonathan Law High School ranked 42nd. It’s overall Niche grade was an A-. It got an A for teachers, A- for clubs/activities and diversity, B+ for academics and college prep and a B for administration.
Joseph A. Foran High School ranked 46th on the Connecticut public school list with an overall grade of A-. It scored an A- on academics, clubs and activities, and teachers. It got a B for diversity, B+ for college prep and C+ for administration.

Staples High School in Westport ranked first in Connecticut for public high schools and 144th in the country. New Canaan High School ranked second and Darien High came in third.
Academy of Our Lady of Mercy - Lauralton Hall ranked third for best Catholic high schools in Connecticut and sixth for all-girls high school in the state. It ranked 31st for best private high school in the state.

Niche said its rankings differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that it also includes input from students, alumni and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities.
Niche said its rankings were created to provide families with valuable information — both quantitative and qualitative — on schools in their area or in a neighborhood they’re not familiar with yet.
As in previous years, the Best Schools rankings include categories for boarding, charter and magnet schools as well as schools for STEM and the arts among many others.
