Milford Hospital Expands Joint Care Services
Currently, more than 54 million Americans are living with arthritis, the leading cause of joint pain.

From Milford Hospital:People over the age of 50 account for more than one third of Connecticut’s population. As the population ages, so does the likelihood of individuals experiencing aches and pains associated with conditions of the hip, knee, shoulder, elbow and other joints. Currently, more than 54 million Americans are living with arthritis, the leading cause of joint pain.
As a result of these and other factors, the American Academy of Orthopaedics reports that approximately 500,000 knee replacements and 175,000 hip replacements are performed in the United States each year. The demand for these surgeries is expected to rise significantly in the next decade, with an anticipated increase of 174% for hip replacements and, an astonishing, 673% for knee replacements.
The need for orthopedic services, however, is not limited to age alone. Active lifestyles, sports injuries and other conditions can require access to a physician specialist. To meet the growing need for joint replacement and other orthopedic services, Milford Hospital is proud to announce their recent affiliation with Orthoapedic Specialty Group, PC. Both organizations are recognized as leaders in advanced treatment options and compassionate and patient centered orthopedic care.
