Milford Legislators Attend Kids Count Breakfast
State Reps. Pam Staneski and Charles Ferraro attended the annual Kids Count Legislative Breakfast at the Milford Yacht Club.

From the Connecticut General Assembly: State Reps. Pam Staneski (R-119) and Charles Ferraro (R-117) attended the annual Milford Kids Count Legislative Breakfast Wednesday morning at the Milford Yacht Club. Both State Representatives Staneski and Ferraro provided updates on the current action at the State Capitol. Rep. Staneski thanked the many non-profit providers in attendance for their advocacy and pledged to support their missions.
“The work groups like the Boys & Girls Club of Milford, the United Way of Milford, Parent Leadership Training Institute and others do for the community is extraordinary. As a member of the Appropriations committee, I am committed to protect these important Milford institutions,” said Rep. Staneski. “Our non-profit do a great job and we in state government should look to them as a model for the state in services.”
"The Milford Community has a dedicated group of teachers, volunteers, organizations that are committed to providing an exceptional learning environment for their children," said Rep. Ferraro. "I will continue to fight for them in Hartford against the reckless budgetary cuts proposed by Governor Malloy. This year's budgetary crises will require both Republicans and Democrats to be present at the negotiating table in order to produce the best possible outcome for the residents of our state."

The Kid Count mission is to develop, enhance, and promote the educational, social, and emotional well-being of all Milford children from birth to the age of five so that they enter kindergarten are prepared and ready to learn. Kids Count has been helping parents send their children to preschool for more than 20 years.
Kids Count statewide was initiated by the Connecticut Commission on Children and Mrs. Claudia Weicker. The Milford Kids Count was the first local effort to be organized in the state.
