Milford Man Arrested After Being Chased Through Grocery Store Parking Lot: Police
The man was wanted in connection with a Fairfield burglary, according to police.
FAIRFIELD, CT — A Milford man wanted in connection with a Fairfield burglary was recently taken into custody after police chased him through a grocery store parking lot, authorities said.
The incident occurred about 5:30 p.m. Feb. 3 at Super Stop & Shop, 760 Villa Ave., according to police. Officers recognized a silver 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe parked outside the store because the vehicle had previously fled law enforcement during an attempted traffic stop Dec. 21, police said.
A man, later determined to be Jonathan Rotz, approached the SUV, but ran when officers tried to make contact, according to police, who eventually took Rotz into custody outside a neighboring business in the 300 block of Tunxis Hill Cutoff.

Rotz was also charged with resisting law enforcement, according to police. His bond was set at $25,500 and he is due in court Tuesday, police said.
