Milford police describe a wild series of events that led to a city man's arrest.

MILFORD, CT - A city man is accused of attempting to break into a motel room armed with a hatchet, fighting with city police officers and then being bitten by a police K-9, Milford police said.
Police said they responded to a Boston Post Road motel on the report of an assault on March 25. Investigation led to the arrest of Nicholas Demayo, 48, of Cornflower Drive, who is accused of attempting to break into the motel room of another person with a hatchet and attacking the individual, police said.
Upon officers arrival, Demayo allegedly denied the incident took place and attempted to physically fight with officers, police said in a news release. The deployment of a police K-9 was utilized and ended with Demayo being bitten by the K-9 and then taken into custody, police said.
