Milford Man Charged With DUI After Crash: PD

The man said a deer may have run across the street, which caused him to crash, police said.

MILFORD, CT — Officers charged a Milford man with driving under the influence after they spotted his vehicle with heavy frontend damage, according to police.

Officers went to West Avenue early Friday morning on a report of a crash. They found a damaged truck on the sidewalk.

Operator Raymond Farrugia, 57, told officers that a deer may have run across the street, which caused him to swerve and crash, according to police.

Farrugia smelled of alcohol and after further investigation was charged with DUI, police said. Bail was set at $500.
