MILFORD, CT - Joseph Zanghi, a graduate of Joseph A. Foran High School, has signed a free agent contract with the New York Mets, and is now in Port St. Lucie, FL, for spring training, reports Milford Mirror Sports Editor Michael Suppe.
“It’s definitely exciting,” Zanghi told the Milford Mirror.
Whether he will make the big club is unknown. Once a catcher, Zanghi is now a righthanded pitcher. He was initially drafted by the Cincinnati Reds before signing with the Mets.
