A man used false information to purchase a vehicle, according to police. Police are asking for help in identifying the accused.

MILFORD, CT — Detectives are asking for the public's help to identify a man who provided false information when he bought a car, according to police.

The man completed a credit application at Dash Cars of CT Nov. 4 using an altered license for someone who lives in Florida, police said. The suspect asked the dealer if he could pick up the vehicle since he was pre-approved, and dealership staff let him leave a 2019 Toyota Tacoma with temporary license plates.

Dealership staff called police when he didn't return for the permanent plates.
