Milford Planning and Zoning Board Member Resigns After Moving
The local official moved to a new location in Milford which resulted in him having to resign his position.
MILFORD, CT — Planning and Zoning Board member Brett Broesder, a fifth-district Democrat, didn't move far, but he did move to a new district in Milford and that meant he had to resign his position on the land-use board.
He wrote a note to Town Clerk Karen Fortunati:
I write to formally inform you that I hereby resign from Milford's Planning and Zoning Board, effective immediately.

It's been an honor to serve as a member of our city's Planning and Zoning Board.
Sadly, this resignation is the necessary result of my moving across the city, less than three miles outside of the district that I currently represent.

While my wife and I have lived in Milford for nearly one-decade, serving on Milford's Planning and Zoning Board has made it clear that there is no other place we'd rather call home.
Our long-term confidence in Milford is due to the depth and quality of the city's leadership. As a member of the city's Planning and Zoning Board, it confirmed our intuition that becoming first-time homeowners in Milford is a no brainer.
I want to thank Chairman Jim Quish for his leadership, mentorship, and friendship.
I also want to show appreciation to Vice-Chairman Robert Satti for his guidance, thoughtfulness, and diligence. Additionally, I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to all fellow Milford Planning and Zoning Board members for being such smart and committed public servants.
And, I want to thank David Sulkis, Meg Green, Susan LaFond, Joe Griffith, and the other members of the city's Planning and Zoning staff for being committed, kind, patient, and generous with their time. Their civic service provides the continuity and expertise that keeps Milford moving forward, and our community is a lasting reflection of their work.
Lastly, I want to thank you and Mayor Blake for the leadership you provide in making Milford a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need anything additional from me to make this transition as smooth as possible for Milford's Planning and Zoning Board.
Respectfully,
Brett Broesder
