Milford Police Announce Arrest of 'Teardrop Bandit' in Milford Bank Robbery

Police say the man is known for allegedly committing several bank robberies and earned the name of the "Teardrop Bandit."

The Milford Police Department announced Monday morning that in conjunction with East Providence Rhode Island Police Department they arrested Robert Chadronet, 37, of 400 North Broadway, East Providence RI, in regards to a bank robbery at People’s United Bank, 1636 Boston Post Road on August 18.

Chadronet, who is known as the “Teardrop Bandit” from a string of previous bank robberies, walked into People’s United Bank at approximately 4:15 pm on August 18, 2015 and handed the bank teller a note stating he had a weapon and wanted the money from the teller’s draw, Milford police said. The teller then handed Chadronet the cash and Chadronet fled the scene, police said.

Chadronet was located at his residence in Rhode Island and extradited back to Connecticut. Chadronet is being held on a $250,000 bond on the charges of second-degree robbery and third-degree larceny.

Chadronet earned the name the “Teardrop Bandit” because of a distinctive tattoo under his eye.
