Milford Police Graduate 10 New Officers To Ranks

A total of 55 recruits from 14 different departments graduated. It's the largest graduating class in academy history

MILFORD, CT — The Milford Police Department added 10 new members to its ranks after Thursday's police academy graduation.

A total of 55 recruits from 14 different departments graduated. It's the largest graduating class in academy history.

Milford police, like many other departments across the state, have been challenged by staffing vacancies. The 10 new recruits will help fill in a good chunk of those vacancies.

Police are again hiring for entry level officer positions. A physical agility test will be held in the near future. Entry level salaries start at about $68,400 and go up to more than $87,000 for a top-grade patrolman. The department offers a pension plan after 25 years of service, 13 paid holidays, 15 sick days and up to 29 vacation days per year.
