Milford Public Library Releases 2024 September Program Calendar
Genealogy Club, young adult programs, and fall storytime are some of what the library has to offer next month.
September News at the Library!
SEPTEMBER IS LIBRARY CARD SIGN-UP MONTH! If you don’t have a library card, now is the perfect time to get one! Milford residents may sign-up for a Milford Public Library online or in person at the Library. Use your library card to fuel your mind with books, e-books, audio books, online databases and resources, and/or museum passes! Plus, we also have a lot of engaging programs and events happening at the Library in September. We hope you can join us.

The Genealogy Club starts again this month under the guidance of a new group moderator, Larry Smith. Music is also back in full swing at MPL, first with Blues 101: Live Music with Ramblin’ Dan Stevens and then get ready to have a great time with The Elderly Brothers with T-Bone Stankus on guitar and Brian Gillie on keyboards, performing Rock “N’ Roll hits of the 1950s and 1960s! Adult programs at the Library focusing on mental wellness and health include The Caring Network: A Grief Support Group of Bridges Healthcare, Healthy Homes: Injury Prevention, 3 Foragers: Edible Wild Mushrooms, and we welcome back Dr. Wendy Hurwitz as she presents important Tips for a Good Night’s Sleep and getting restorative rest. Do you have a great idea for an invention? Could doing a pitch on Shark Tank be in your future? Join members of the Inventors Association of CT as they share the Pros & Cons of Provisional Patent Applications! Tuesday Movie Matinees will feature Robin Williams in the hilarious comedy, Mrs. Doubtfire and Ryan Gosling in the action comedy, The Fall Guy.
As school begins again, Young Adult programs will feature making (and eating) delicious food, creating and building cool designs, and, in an engaging seminar, parents can learn 7 Ways to Support Your Student’s Studying & Executive Function without Losing Your Mind.

For Children, Fall Storytimes are back in session Tuesday and Thursday mornings from September 17 – October 24. Music will fill the air with a Music Together Singalong for Ages 0-5 and when the Suzuki Music School of Orange come to visit for a Music Pop-Up Class! Other fun and interactive children’s programs will include a Lego Build-a-Thon, a Stuffie Sleepover, Read-To-A-Therapy Dog with Pet Partners and the program series for readers, Fans of Fiction: Spy School Edition.
The library will be closed on Labor Day, Monday, September 2nd
The Romance and Classic Book Discussion Groups will also meet in September as well as fascinating Online Author Talks with non-fiction authors, Garrett Graff and Nate Klemp and fiction author, Liane Moriarty, discussing her newest book, Here One Moment.
