Milford Public Schools Calendar 2016-17

MILFORD, CT — You may be thinking about how many more days you can go to the beach, but the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2016-17 school year in the Milford Public School System.

First day of school: August 29

Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 5

Sept. 21 (early dismissal students)

Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Oct. 3

Oct. 5, 6 (early dismissal students)

Yom Kippur (school closed): Oct. 12

October 26 (early dismissal students)

Nov. 8 (no school for students)

November 23 (early dismissal)

Thanksgiving (school closed): 24, 25

Winter break: Dec-26 to Jan. 2 (school resumes Jan. 3)

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 16

Jan. 25 (early dismissal students)

Feb. 17 (no school for students)

Presidents Day/ Winter Break (school closed): Feb. 20. 21

March 15, 16 (early dismissal students)

March 29 (early dismissal)

Spring Break: April 10-14, which includes Good Friday

May 24 (early dismissal students)

Memorial Day (school closed): May 29

June 5, 6 (early dismissal students)

Last day of school: June 7

Note: The last day of school is tentatively June 7. If additional days are required for emergency/snow closures, they will be added to June, but not to go beyond June 23. Should more days be needed, they will be deducted from the April 2017 vacation beginning with April 10th up through April 13th. Good Friday would remain a holiday.
