Milford PZB Approves Regulations Likely Leading To Massive Apartment Project: Report
The project was originally denied but a new vote had to be taken due to a procedural issue.

MILFORD, CT — The Planning and Zoning Board reversed itself and has approved zoning regulations that will help pave the way for a 168-unit apartment complex at Route 1 and Plains Road, the Milford Mirror reports.
The PZB had denied the project last month but due to a procedural issue, took another vote and this time the regulation change was approved, the Mirror reports. The project was denied last month because some members wanted the applicant, Metro 150 LLC, to include some affordable housing units in the plans because Milford is trying to secure enough units for a 4-year affordable housing moratorium.
However, the developer Robert Smith doesn't built affordable housing units. Smith and his company are one of the city's top 10 taxpayers and his projects have consistently drawn praise for its quality.
