Milford School Calendar 2020-21: First, Last Day Of School

When's the first day of school in Milford? Plus, other must-know dates for students, parents and teachers.

MILFORD, CT — This will be a unique school year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and Milford schools have adjusted their school calendar accordingly.

The first day for professional learning for staff is Aug. 31 and it continues Sept. 1-4. The first day of school for student is Sept. 8.

Sept. 23 is an early dismissal day for students and Sept. 28, Yom Kippur, school is closed.

October 21 and 22 is parent conferences at all levels resulting in early dismissal for students. October 23 is parent conferences elementary only/early dismissal for elementary only students.

October 28 is an early dismissal day for students. There will be no school for students on Nov. 3, Election Day, while there will be professional learning for staff.

There will be early dismissal on Nov. 25 for staff and students and no school on Nov. 26, 27.

December 9 is early dismissal day for students and Dec. 23 is early dismissal for both staff and students.

December 24-31 is the holiday vacation for staff and students and Jan. 1 is a holiday and day off. Students and staff will return to school on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021.

January 18 is a holiday for Martin Luther King Day and Jan. 27 is early dismissal for students.

The winter recess for staff and students is Feb. 12, 15. There will be early dismissal on Feb. 24 for students and there will be no school for students on March 10 as professional learning will be occurring for staff.

March 24 and 25 are parent conferences at all levels and there will be early dismissal for students.

March 26 will be parent conferences for elementary only/early dismissal for elementary students only.

There will be an early dismissal for students on March 31.

April 2-9 is for the spring recess (includes Good Friday) for staff and students. There will be an early dismissal for students on April 21 and another early dismissal for students on May 19.

Memorial Day, May 31, is a holiday and school is closed.

There will be early dismissal on June 11, 12 for students and the last day of the year for staff and students is scheduled for June 14, but that date can change. June 14 is scheduled to be an early dismissal day for both staff and students.

Note: The last day of school is tentatively June 14. If additional days are required for emergency/snow closures, they will be added to June, but not to go beyond June 21. Should more days be needed, they will be deducted from the April 2021 vacation beginning with April 9 and backing up to April 5.

Milford Public Schools delayed start times will be 2 hours after the regular start time for your school.
