Milford's Bike Month Finale Saturday, May 30
East Coast Greenway Ribbon Cutting & Motivational Speaker Colleen Kelly Alexander

Milford, CT, May 20th, 2015- After a fun-filled, successful month of biking in Milford, the City is gearing up for its Bike Month Finale on Saturday, May 30th.
Mayor Ben Blake invites and encourages all residents and cyclists to join the East Coast Greenway Alliance and the City for a ribbon cutting formally opening the first contra-flow bike lane in Connecticut. The ribbon cutting will be held at the entrance of Shipyard Lane and Harborside Drive, behind Wilcox Park at 5:00PM. Refreshments and free valet bike parking will be provided compliments of the East Coast Greenway Alliance.
Milford is excited to be integrated into the East Coast Greenway trail (ECG). The ECG is one of the Nation’s longest biking trails, stretching from Calais, Maine to Key West, Florida. Of the 2,900 miles of trail, approximately 11 miles runs through Milford’s serene coastline and bustling city center. The ECG is a traffic-free biking trail, serving all ages and abilities.

Please bike over to City Hall to hear Colleen tell her inspirational story about her struggles and the adversity she overcame, including a life threatening biking accident which drove her to run more than 50 races and compete in 15 post-accident triathlons.
“I am so honored to speak with a town that is working together so progressively to promote the importance of cycling in its community. The benefits of cycling are numerous and Milford’s efforts to promote cycling awareness, safety, and health is terrific,” said Colleen.
