More Affordable Housing Development Pitched On Same Milford Road
Milford continues to receive a steady stream of affordable housing applications.

MILFORD, CT — Last year a developer built a 15-unit affordable housing complex at 335 Meadowside Road and now another developer has pitched plans for a 12-unit apartment complex, which includes affordable housing at 328 Meadowside Road, the Milford Mirror reports.
A public hearing will be held 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21 at City Hall on the plans by Beachland LLC. The developer is seeking to construct the units on a half acre of property. A single-family home is currently on the property.
And as Milford residents have heard a 1,000 times because the application was filed as an affordable housing project it essentially renders the city powerless to stop the project. The burden of proof is on the city to prove why it shouldn't be built and even if the city denies the project, it is likely to lose in court and often costs taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees as well.

Generally, the best that the city can hope for is to work with the developer and or courts to reduce the size of an affordable housing project.
