Rain, Storms Today, More Rain On Mother's Day: CT Weather
The weather forecast continues to be unkind to us in Connecticut. Here are the updated details on what to expect today and this weekend.

CONNECTICUT — If you have outdoor plans with mom on Sunday, you may want to consider a Plan B. Once again, some rain is expected on Sunday and it's not going anywhere as more rain is forecast on Monday and Tuesday.
We'll also notice a big change in the temperatures too as temps will only be in the low to mid 50s on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. It definitely won't feel like we're just a couple of weeks away from Memorial Day weekend.
Before we get to the weekend, it's going to rain for the ninth straight Friday in Connecticut. It won't be a washout but occasional showers are possible off and on throughout the day and evening. There is a chance for an isolated thunderstorm in some communities today too, according to the National Weather Service.

The good news concerning the weekend weather is that Saturday looks great with plenty of sunshine and temps in the mid 60s.
WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons says, "A shower passing through this morning and some sunny breaks for the afternoon today. High temperatures mostly in the 60s. Although a couple of places could hit 70. Dry early evening then a line of showers or a brief thunderstorm after 9 PM tonight. Nice weather Saturday! Sunshine and decent temperatures 65 to 70. Some light rain at times for Mother’s Day. But not all that heavy and there will be breaks at times. Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms out there."

We've been watching strong storms through the midwest and Tennessee valley in the last 48 hours - they're getting closer. Tonight - it's rain/thunder for us - but the Storm Prediction Center thinks we're not likely to see anything severe.....here's hoping! pic.twitter.com/nNveddnZPw

Best chance for severe weather in the northeast today is in the area shaded in green. As those storms make their way to the east (and into Connecticut) this evening, they'll likely weaken. Still could be a few leftover t-storms in CT though. pic.twitter.com/Tl3joYDoRO

While we have a chance for a shower most of the day, we may clear out just enough to get sunshine in here and boost the temperatures. Most likely in the 60s today, but sunshine may help temps jump into the 70s inland! Tricky forecast on @FOX61News pic.twitter.com/4gDovzLM1I
