Mulch Fire Extinguished Sunday In Milford

MILFORD, CT — A smoldering mulch fire was extinguished at Grillo Services Sunday afternoon, according to Milford firefighters.

Two callers reported seeing smoke near the Housatonic River. Firefighters found a large are of burning mulch at Grillo Services. Grillo personnel turned over the burning pile with excavating equipment in order to suffocate the fire, according to Milford Professional Firefighters.
