Online Absentee Ballot Portal Now Open

MILFORD, CT – Connecticut voters can now request an absentee ballot online at myvote.ct.gov/GetMyAB. The new portal allows registered voters with a valid Connecticut driver’s license to apply for an absentee ballot quickly and securely, without having to mail in an application or visit their Town Clerk’s office in person.

“The absentee ballot paper application can be confusing. The Online Portal makes the process easier and reduces the chances of errors,” said Milford City Clerk Pete Smith. “This new option removes one more barrier to participation. Eligible voters with a Connecticut driver’s license can now request an absentee ballot right from their phone, tablet, or computer.”

Eligibility for Absentee Voting

Recent changes in state law have expanded eligibility to vote by absentee ballot. Voters may now use an absentee ballot if they are unable to appear at their polling place on Election Day due to:

• Being absent from town,
• Illness or disability (including caring for someone who is ill or disabled, or due to the continued presence of sickness),
• Active military service,
• Religious beliefs that prevent them from voting on Election Day, or
• Duties as an election official that conflict with voting in person.

Returning an Absentee Ballot

After completing their absentee ballot, voters may return it in one of the following ways:

• By mail,
• In person at the Milford City Clerk’s Office, or
• By using one of the two secure absentee ballot drop boxes located at City Hall and at the Parsons Complex (outside the Clerk’s Office).

All absentee ballots must be received by the Milford City Clerk’s Office no later than 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Please note: ballots postmarked by Election Day but received after the deadline cannot be counted.
