Photo Slideshow: Massive Fire Damages Milford Home
Thankfully the homeowners and firefighters weren't injured, but much of the house was heavily damaged.

A Milford house was rendered uninhabitable after a massive fire destroyed much of the first and second floors.
Firefighters first responded to the fire at 28 Underhill Rd. shortly after 2:!5 p.m., according to Capt. Greg Carman, Fire Department spokesman.
Firefighters arrived to a heavy fire in the rear of the property that was beginning to extend to the front and a detached garage.

“Multiple hose lines were used to contain and extinguish the fire while additional crews were assigned to protect another home that was in close proximity,” he said.
The homeowners were able to safely escape the fire and no firefighters were injured either.

The homeowners were able to retrieve some of their belongings, but the house will no longer be habitable.
The cause is still under investigation.
