Pirates Day, Farmers Market Kickoff In Milford This Weekend

MILFORD, CT — The Downtown Milford Farmers Market kicks off its 19th season and the 23rd Annual Pirates Day returns in Milford this weekend.

The farmers market will be held Saturdays until Oct. 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

New this year will be "The Piglet's Club," a "bold, first-of-its-kind kids’ program that makes it CT’s only seasonal farmers market that centers on inspiring the youngest generations," according to a press release from the Downtown Milford Business Association.

The 20-week educational program for kids is in partnership with The Giggling Pig of Milford.

Kids will learn about composting, farm-to-table, recipes, eco-awareness, crop cycles, healthy plate building and more.

The club will be every Saturday starting this week and extending to Oct. 11. It will be held at Wasson Field, 108 W. Main St. Learn more by clicking here.

Then on Sunday, "the town transforms" for the 23rd Annual Pirates Day. The event will be 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lisman Landing, the Milford Green, and the Milford Historical Society.

Activities will include Captain Kidd’s Milford Harbor invasion, Rockin’ Ron the Friendly Pirate, Pirate games, music, costumes, and more.

The event draws hundreds of families every year.
