MILFORD, CT — The Connecticut Post Mall is undergoing several changes, with stores shifting locations and a proposal for apartments moving forward.

Last October, the Planning and Zoning Board approved regulation changes paving the way for a total of 750 apartments to be built. The construction would be in three phases of 250 units each over a span of about 10 years.

Connecticut Post Mall General Manager Ken Sterba said that the project is in the planning and design phase.

"We look forward to continuing the momentum this year and will work with the city on next steps for approval as the project progresses," he said.

The project will start with the demolition of the former Sears.

P.F. Chang's will be opening a restaurant later this year. Bar Louie closed at the space in early 2020.

Previously, a location of the Asian restaurant chain was scheduled to open in the mall last year. However, P.F. Chang's announced it would delay opening in June.

P.F. Chang's has more than 300 locations worldwide. Currently the closest location is in West Hartford.

In other eatery news, Praline's Ice Cream has rebranded as Micro Creamery of CT, according to Sterba.

Several shops will be shifting locations as well. LensCrafters is moving to a new space in April on the upper level near Zumiez and will be building out a new store. Their current store will remain open until the new store is ready.

Victoria’s Secret is taking possession of the current Urban Planet space in the middle of this month. Their current store will remain open until the new store is ready.

Urban Planet is relocating as well, however, "the team is still in the process of finalizing both a temporary and final location for this tenant at the moment," Sterba said.
