Police Provide Update On Speeding Cameras In Milford

The speeding cameras have been installed in high-traffic corridors and areas near schools.

MILFORD, CT — The Milford Police Department announced that the warning period for speeding camera enforcement concludes Monday.

Starting Tuesday, citations will begin to be issued for violations.

Police said that so far, the cameras have resulted in a 50% reduction in speeding.

The cameras will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week at "select locations, including high-traffic corridors and areas near schools."

Police listed the following locations for the cameras:

  • Boston Post Road North off I-95 S Exit 39
  • 200 block of Woodruff Road
  • The Academy School Zone, 100 block of Gulf St.
  • Live Oaks Elementary School Zone, 500 block of Merwin Ave.
  • West Shore Middle School Zone, 500 block of Milford Road
  • Platt Technical School Zone, 500 block of Orange Ave.

The state approved a proposal for nine red light and speeding cameras last year.
