Sen. Maroney to Hold Office Hours at the Milford Diner

The first week of September brings another Coffee and Conversation session with Maroney.

City of Milford:The first week of September brings another Coffee and Conversation session with state Senator James Maroney (D-Milford). Sen. Maroney will hold office hours in the 14th Senate District at the Milford Diner on 886 Bridgeport Ave. He will be around from 8 am-9 am, and all are welcomed to drop in.

The Senator recently had a piece of legislation he authored and led passage of signed into law. The Military to Machinist Program will go into effect on October 1, and assists veterans in finding the funding for advanced manufacturing careers. The Workplace will run the program, and ensure veterans’ transitioning from active duty to civilian life can find work in the state in the advanced manufacturing trade. The Senator said he is eager to talk about this law and any other topics on the minds’ of his constituents, like the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program.

“This coffee and conversation session presents a great opportunity for constituents to ask questions about this new and exciting law,” said Sen. Maroney. “Additionally, the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program’s application period is open, and I’d be happy to assist any constituents with getting signed up to help them with energy costs this upcoming winter.”

Next week, the Senator will be in West Haven at the Elm Diner (111 Elm Street) for Coffee and Conversation on Thursday, September 12 from 8 am-9 am.

About James Maroney: Sen. Maroney was first elected to represent the 14th District (Milford) in 2018. Before being elected to the Senate, he was a State Representative for the 119th District from 2012-2014, where he served on the Higher Education Committee. Due to his distinguished service on the Higher Education and Employment Advancement Committee, he was asked to serve on the Planning Commission for Higher Education and help develop a strategic plan for higher education in Connecticut.
