Services Scheduled for John Knapp, Milford Resident and Roofer Killed in a Fall

Knapp, 40, died from injuries he suffered after falling off a ladder at a job site.

MILFORD, CT — Calling hours and funeral services are scheduled for Thursday and Friday for John Knapp, the 40-year-old Milford resident and roofer who died on Oct. 6 after a fall off a ladder at a job site.

Knapp, owner of Knapp Roofing and a realtor for Greytak Realty in Shelton, is being remembered by family and friends for his spirit, generosity and sense of humor, reports the Connecticut Post.

John Howard Knapp, age 40, a lifelong Milford resident, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016 in Bridgeport Hospital from a construction accident.
John graduated from Muhlenberg College with a bachelor degree and received a project management certification from Villanova University. He was the proud owner of Knapp Roofing and was also a licensed real estate agent for Greytak Realty in Shelton.
A devoted and dedicated son, he is survived by his parents John and Maria Barbieri Knapp, brothers Michael Knapp (Allison) and James Knapp (Debbie) all of Milford, sister Catherine DelVecchio (Dan) of Orange, nephew Kyle Knapp and nieces Caroline, Stefanie and Charlotte DelVecchio. John will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his fun loving personality, good heart and generosity.
Calling hours are Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 4pm to 8pm at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 N Broad St., Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 14that 10:30am in Christ the Redeemer Church, 325 Oronoque Rd., Milford. Interment will be private.
