The space is set to open to the public Nov. 5. Get a sneak peak of the inside.

MILFORD, CT — Dave & Buster’s is set to open its second Connecticut location and first in the southern part of the state on Monday Nov. 5. Patch got a sneak preview of the 34,000 square foot entertainment space that is sure to become one of the Connecticut Post Mall’s main anchor stores.

Dave and Buster’s is part restaurant, part sports bar and part game entertainment with space for private events too. The Milford location is the company’s 119th and boasts seating for 400 guests with a maximum capacity of 1,500 people.

Dave & Busters also brought more than 250 new jobs to the area, said Doug Zeigler, travel manager for Dave and Buster’s.

There are 41 screens at the Milford location and all games including pay-per-view events like UFC fights will be available, Zeigler said.

The location features a restaurant, sports lounge, self-seating bar area, private area for parties and corporate functions. The restaurant, sports lounge and private area feature sound-dampening that blocks out much of the sound of the busy game floor. The private area opens as early as 8 a.m. and can seat up to 75 people with room for 100 during a cocktail-style event. The room can also be split into two sections with capacity of 35 guests each.

Corporate functions are a popular use of the rooms at Dave & Buster’s locations. The Milford location has plenty of screens and audio/video support for presentations. The sports lounge is also available for private events and has audio/video support.

The game floor has more than 140 arcade games.

Games are updated frequently, Zeigler said.

“We don’t want our guests first visit to be their last,” he said. “We want them to experience something new every time they visit.”

One of the highlighted games is an interactive cinematic virtual reality ride. The current theme is Jurassic World and the ride will periodically be updated with new themes, Zeigler said.

The location is accessible from both the inside of the mall and its own private entrance. The private entrance will stay open after the rest of the mall closes. It is open from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

Specials at the Milford location include happy hour from 3:45 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and a late night from 9 p.m. to close. There are $3/$4/$5 cocktails, $2.50 domestic pints, $1 off 22 oz. drafts, $1 off glasses of wine and $3 off bottles of wine.

Thursday Sunday and Monday also have football game day specials including all-you-can-eat wings, unlimited video game play and $10 power cards for $19.99.

Games are half price Wednesday all day.
