Snow Emergency Declared In Milford: What You Need To Know
The city has provided residents with updates on trash collection, parking, cancellations, and more.
MILFORD, CT — The city has declared a snow emergency and provided residents with updates on trash collection, parking, cancellations, and more due to the blizzard rolling through the Northeast.
A city-wide parking ban was enacted Sunday and will stay in effect until Tuesday at noon.
Drivers should move all vehicles off the streets. Police will be ticketing and when necessary, towing vehicles in violation of the parking ban, according to a city Facebook post.

"We will be plowing streets in priority order, primary, secondary, and then dead ends and cul-de-sacs," the city wrote. "Please be patient as our team does its best to clear our streets."

There will be no Monday trash collection pickup. Monday collection will be picked up Tuesday. Residents should put receptacles out at curbside late Monday evening.
Tuesday collection will be picked up Wednesday. Thursday and Friday collections are unchanged.
The city is reminding residents to clear sidewalks and the areas around fire hydrants.
The Recreation Department announced that all programs will be canceled Monday. All city buildings will also be closed to the public.
Milford Public Schools were also closed Monday.
Expected snowfall accumulation is 12 to 24 inches accompanied by sustained winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
"Due to expected high winds, we are facing potential power outages and coastal flooding is likely," the city wrote. "Please plan accordingly and for those along the coastal area please be sure to move your cars to higher ground."
