Special Weather Statement Issued For Southern Connecticut Wednesday
The National Weather Service said a thunderstorm is also possible on Wednesday. Here is an update on traffic conditions across the region.

SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for Wednesday morning due to concerns over foggy conditions.
In the special statement, the weather service said, "Fog continues across the region this, with patches of dense fog in spots. This has resulted in reduced visibilities down to a few miles, with localized areas of a quarter mile or less. Exercise caution if driving into early this morning and utilize your low beam headlights as visibilities may suddenly drop."
And besides the fog concerns, more rain showers are expected off-and-on throughout the day, especially in the morning and afternoon hours. A thunderstorm is also possible too, the weather service said.

A coastal flood statement has also been issued for southern parts of Fairfield County from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. "Minor flooding is expected in the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and low lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience minor flooding."
Once the rain ends later Wednesday, sunshine returns on Thursday and continues through Sunday.
