Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Southern CT: Here's What You Need To Know

SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for southern Connecticut due to the concern that "Dry conditions with gusty winds may enhance the risk of fire spread during Thursday and Friday."

It will be dry through the upcoming weekend, with our next chance of rain on Monday and Tuesday, the weather service said.

The weather service said to expect breezy conditions Wednesday and Wednesday night, and gusts over 25 mph are expected. It will be chilly Wednesday, with temperatures in the 50s.

Temperatures will drop into the 30s Wednesday night and could approach the freezing mark in some places. Cold temperatures are forecast again on Thursday night, too.

"Gusty winds and dry conditions bring up fire weather concerns both days..." the weather service said.

High temperatures over the weekend will be in the upper 50s to middle 60s on Saturday and low to upper 60s on Sunday, the weather service said.
