Numerous Issues On The Roads In Southern CT This Morning

SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — If you need to travel this morning, you'll need to be aware of potential black ice and also a very dense fog, which can both complicate travel conditions Wednesday morning.

In a special weather statement, the National Weather Service wrote, "Surface temperatures were at or below freezing across much of the area, and will remain below freezing through the overnight and into early Wednesday morning. With widespread dense fog expected moisture will freeze on the cold surfaces, resulting in black ice. Motorists are urged to slow down and travel with caution into Wednesday morning."

And a dense fog advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. "Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog....Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous."

"If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you," the weather service said.
