Strangulation at Kmart and other Domestic Disturbances

Several people have been busted allegedly fighting with their loved ones.

A 50-year-old man was charged with third-degree strangulation after he stormed into Kmart, chased his ex-girlfriend -- who works at the store -- and allegedly grabbed her around the neck and threatened to hurt her, police said.

David Young of West Haven was busted Tuesday morning after a disturbance was reported at the store, police said.

Young allegedly entered the Bridgeport Avenue store, "chased after" his ex-girlfriend, who was working at the time, and then allegedly tried to strangle her, according to police.

When coworkers tried to help the ex-girlfriend, "Young attempted to bite them," according to police.

There were no reported injuries, police said.

Young was also charged with second-degree breach of peace, third-degree assault, and second-degree threatening, police said. He was being held in lieu of $2,000 bail.

A 50-year-old Milford woman was charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly "engaging in threatening behavior towards a family member," police said.

Jane Curtis of 3 Carriage Path North was charged Tuesday morning after investigators received a complaint of a disturbance at a Carriage Path North residence, police said.

An investigation led to the arrest of Curtis, who is accused of causing a disturbance in the home, according to police.

A 49-year-old Milford man was charged with disorderly conduct after he allegedly kicked his companion during an argument, police said.

David Siemers of 85 Viscount Drive, Unit F2, was arrested Tuesday afternoon and released on a promise to appear in court.

A Milford man and woman, both in their 60s, were charged early Wednesday morning with disorderly conduct after a disturbance at an East Broadway restidence, police said.

John Michols, 66, and Sandra Carter, 63, both of 51 East Broadway, were charged after allegedly "engaging in a physical altercation and threatening to harm each other," police said.

They were both released on promised to appear in court, according to police.
