Third Person Arrested In Milford Street Takeover: Police

MILFORD, CT — Police have made a third arrest connected to a street takeover in December in Milford.

Anthony Deems, Jr., 19, of Levittown, PA, turned himself in to police on Thursday and was charged with first-degree riot, unlawful assembly, and interfering with an officer.

The incident started when a police officer responded to the Stop & Shop parking lot at 855 Bridgeport Ave. on Dec. 9 at 1:45 a.m.

The parking lot was occupied by several vehicles and more than 100 spectators.

Several people confronted the officer who arrived at the parking lot. The officer was surrounded by a crowd then assaulted and injured, police said.

Fireworks and M-80s were also set off at the officer's patrol vehicle. Police also released a video of the incident.

A juvenile was arrested last month and charged with attempt at assault of a public safety personnel, interfering with a police officer, first-degree rioting, and unlawful assembly. A Bloomfield man, Malik Robinson, was also charged with racing (street takeover).

Deems also had an active warrant from West Haven police for second-degree failure to appear with a $5,000 court-set bond. He posted bond and is scheduled to appear in Milford Superior Court on March 6.
