Milford Police Make Another Arrest In Street Takeover Case
A Bloomfield man is facing charges connected to a December street takeover at a Milford grocery store parking lot, police said.

MILFORD, CT — Another arrest was made in connection with a street takeover in December in Milford.
Following an investigation, police identified Malik Robinson, 28, of Bloomfield, as involved in the street takeover. Police said he was one of the drivers performing dangerous motor vehicle stuns.
Robinson was charged with racing (street takeover).

The incident started when a police officer responded to the Stop & Shop parking lot at 855 Bridgeport Ave. on Dec. 9 at 1:45 a.m.
The parking lot was occupied by several vehicles and more than 100 spectators.

Several people confronted the officer who arrived at the parking lot. A male in a red puffer jacket threw a shopping cart directly at the officer, police said.
The male ran when the officer attempted to take him into custody. The officer caught up to him but was then surrounded by a large crowd. The officer was assaulted from behind and injured, police said.
Fireworks and M-80s were also set off at the officer's patrol vehicle. Police also released a video of the incident.
The person in the red puffer jacket, a juvenile, was arrested in the street takeover case earlier this month. He was charged with attempt at assault of a public safety personnel, interfering with a police officer, first-degree rioting, and unlawful assembly.
"The Milford Police Department would like to continue to recognize the collaboration with neighboring police departments and would also like to thank the public for their help throughout this investigation," police wrote in a statement.
The investigation remain ongoing and police said they are "actively pursuing leads for other suspects."
In West Haven, another street takeover was attempted in December. Six people were charged after throwing fireworks at police officers in the incident, according to police.
