The weather has been beautiful the past several days, so we were due for a change, and it has arrived. Rain fell overnight and will continue off and on through Tuesday evening. It won't be raining throughout this time, it will be more sporadic, but there may also be downpours at times.
Another inch of rain is possible. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday look great with sunshine and temperatures into the low 70s.

Update on COVID-19 vaccine mandate for state employees
Gov. Ned Lamont announced that the state has made progress in compliance with the executive orders requiring either COVID-19 vaccination or weekly testing among executive branch state employees.

As of Sunday, October 3, 2021:
- About 23,000 (74%) are fully vaccinated;
- About 5,000 (15%) will receive weekly testing; and
- About 3,000 (11%) are currently non-compliant.
The administration continues to expect that most of the remaining non-compliant employees will submit the required documentation to the state by the evening of Monday, October 4, and that there should be minimal impact to operations as a result. The state employee vaccination and testing requirement only covers the executive branch and does not apply to the legislative or judicial branches.
Stabbing at Apple Harvest Festival in Southington
Police say a teen was stabbed at the festival on Saturday night after a fight broke out among two teenagers, NBC CT reports. One teen suffered a stab wound to the stomach. One teen was charged.

2 injured after motorcycle crashes into deer
Two people riding on a motorcycle suffered injuries after the motorcycle crashed into a deer in Harwinton, NBC CT reports. (Read More here).
