Thousands Still Without Power In CT As Cold Weather Persists
Eversource has released new details concerning when the power should be fully restored in CT. There are thousands still without power.

CONNECTICUT — Eversource and United Illuminating Co. have made great progress concerning power restoration efforts. On early Friday, nearly 100,000 residents were without power and as of noon Saturday that number has been cut to less than 6,100, the utilities say.
While this is definitely good news, it may take a bit more time before power is restored to everyone.
Eversource officials said Saturday afternoon that power has been restored to more than 148,000 customers in Connecticut after the Halloween windstorm. Eversource is projecting that everyone in Connecticut should have power fully restored by 6 a.m. Sunday, and most areas will have power restored by Saturday evening. Estimated restoration times based on where you live can be seen at Eversource.com.

“The fierce winds with this storm caused widespread power outages, affecting all of the 149 communities we serve in Connecticut,” said Eversource Vice President of Electric Operations in Connecticut Michael Hayhurst. “We have hundreds of line and tree workers spread out across the state working to get those remaining customers back on. We know how tough it is for them to be without power and won’t stop until every customer has it restored.”
Many of the remaining outages are more complex ones that take additional time to complete and may require assistance from a private electrician or contractor, company officials said. Lineworkers are going to each of these individual locations to assess what additional equipment or effort may be required to make repairs.

With the continuing potential for trees weakened by the strong winds to fall onto power lines, Eversource reminds customers to stay far away from any downed wires and to report them to 911 right away. They can report an outage online at www.eversource.com, or by calling 800-286-2000.
Eversource is reporting 6,080 power outages as of 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Here are the towns with the most outages: East Haddam, 464, Monroe, 195, Brooklyn, 186, Mansfield, 163, West Hartford, 154,Killingly, 139, Ridgefield, 133, Danbury, 121, Pomfret, 117, Woodstock, 112, Glastonbury, 103.
Other towns with more than 50 outages includes: Branford, Guilford, Brookfield, East Hampton, East Windsor, Ellington, Farmington, Haddam, Hartford, Meriden, Montville, New Britain, Newtown, Redding, Stafford, Waterford, Westport, and Windsor Locks.
United Illuminating Co. is reporting six outages: 1 person each in these towns, East Haven, Easton, Fairfield, Hamden, Bridgeport, and Milford. What are the odds of that?
