Tolls, Transportation Focus of Coffee Hour with Milford Officials

From CT State Reps: State Reps. Charles Ferraro and Kathy Kennedy met with constituents on Wednesday morning at the Athenian Diner in Milford to hear about issues impacting the area and to provide a legislative update.

Residents expressed their concerns about the transportation infrastructure and to find solutions to make it easier to travel in Connecticut. But, those in attendance said they were against the idea of placing tolls throughout the state.

In addition Reps. Ferraro and Kennedy expressed their concerns with raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour and forcing employers small and large to implement paid family leave.

"We continue to hear from residents that they don't want tolls and they want to see state government start prioritizing state spending," said Rep. Ferraro. "I will be fighting to stop tolls and anti-business legislation this session. I believe implementing more taxes is the wrong thing to do for our state and instead we should be looking at ways we can reduce taxes."

“Sitting down and talking with constituents is the best way to find out what is on their mind so I can best represent them and be their voice at the State Capitol.” Rep. Kennedy said, “The people I have spoken to in the district have been consistent in their opposition to tolls. They just want state government to be better stewards with their tax dollars.”

The next office hour with Reps. Ferraro and Kennedy will be at the Milford Library on Wednesday, February 13th, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
