Trooper Sentenced to a Year in Prison for Stealing Dying Milford Man's Jewelry

Aaron Huntsman was sentenced to a year in prison for the theft.

A state trooper who was found guilty of stealing a dying man’s jewelry and cash was sentenced to a year in prison.

Aaron Huntsman was caught on his own dashcam plucking a gold crucifix and cash off of John Scalesse, who died from injuries after his motorcycle collided with a truck on Exit 44 on Route 15 in Fairfield, according to the Connecticut Post.

Prosecutors argued for a 16-month prison sentence, but Judge Robert Devlin gave him five years suspended after serving one and three years of probation. Huntsman pleaded guilty to third-degree larceny and tampering with evidence.
