Unique Beverage Shop To Open Milford Location

MILFORD, CT — Get Fizzy, a dirty soda shop with a location in Southington, is planning on opening in Milford in February.

The new location will be at the Pilgrim Furniture & Mattress City at 1755 Boston Post Road. Get Fizzy will be opening inside the store's former cafe space.

Get Fizzy posted the following on Facebook on Jan. 19: "SO EXCITED TO BRING GET FIZZY TO MILFORD! We’re aiming for a grand opening next month!! Will we see any of you there?!"

Described as "Connecticut's first dirty soda shop," Get Fizzy is known for its unique drinks like "Dr. 203," which is Dr. Pepper plus vanilla syrup, coconut cream, and fresh lime.

Many of the drinks on its menu follow a Connecticut theme, like "The Quiet Corner," which is Coca-Cola, coconut syrup, and fresh lime. They also have a number of seasonal drinks coming up for Valentine's Day.

The shop's owner said in a video that Pilgrim contacted her about setting up a location in Southington. The original Get Fizzy is at a trailer at the Lowe's in Southington. The owner said that because the two stores are close together, they explored other options, settling on Milford.

Pilgrim is helping to furnish the Milford shop. The cafe space at the store hasn't been used since before the pandemic.

Get Fizzy is also planning to open a Plainville shop. The business will be hiring at both locations.
