WATCH: Whale Spotted in Milford
A local fisherman captured a humpback whale near Charles Island Sunday night.
Bobby J’s Bait and Tackle Owner Jason Jadach is on the water almost every morning and most afternoon as well.
So when a frequent customer, Mark Tutino, sent him a video Monday morning showing a humpback whale breaching in Milford’s waters it was admittedly something he had never seen before.

Jadach said he’s seen dolphins, a sea turtle and even a shark before, but never a whale.
The sighting occurred Sunday afternoon and in the video, you can see Charles Island in the background.

Tutino told Patch it was himself and John Horvack in the boat.
“First saw something off Bayview – what ended up being some blowhole mist. While the boat was stopped we were both looking out off the bow and the whale breached to the left of us. Had no idea what it was. Turned the boat around and just started following in general direction before we were able to get a better look at it,” Tutino said.
He said he plans to share additional videos of the whale he caught on video.
