Volunteers Needed!

Every Fall, the Rape Crisis Center of Milford hosts an in-person volunteer training course for Sexual Assault Crisis Counselor State Certification as defined in CT General Statute 52-146(k). We are now accepting applications for Fall 2025 volunteer training! Earn your Certification and help us support local survivors in need!

Our 40-hour training curriculum provides volunteers with all of the education and skills necessary to effectively support survivors on our hotline and during crisis responses. No previous counseling experience is required!

Requirements: Volunteers must be 18+ with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Volunteers must also live within 30 minutes of all police departments and hospitals in our service area: Ansonia, Derby, Milford, Orange, Seymour, Shelton, and West Haven, CT.

Training begins September 2025 and most class meetings are held in Milford on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Our volunteers are a vital aspect of our agency and our work would not be possible without them. Last year, our incredible volunteers answered over 300 calls on our crisis hotline. Join our team and help us support survivors in your community!
