Winston, Milford’s #1 Dog for 2025 for Milford

CT – June 13, 2025 – Milford City Clerk Peter Smith proudly issued the City’s #1 dog license

of the 2025–2026 licensing season to “Winston,”
a 3-year-old Labrador Retriever who stopped by the City Clerk's Office
today with his partner, Officer Cox of the Milford Police Department. Winston
was officially recognized as Milford’s #1 Dog for 2025.

In addition to picking up his own license, Winston also
collected Milford Dog License #2 on behalf of his colleague “Rip,”
a 2-year-old German Shepherd. Both canines serve the City of
Milford and represent the loyalty and dedication of our four-legged public
safety partners.

“These dogs play an important role in our community,” said City
Clerk Pete Smith. “Milford is a dog-friendly city, and licensing your dog shows
you love them and want to keep them safe and protected.”

June is Dog Licensing Month in Connecticut

All dog owners are reminded that June is Dog Licensing Month in
the State of Connecticut. Licensing your dog is a simple but important way to
show your love, ensure their safety, support animal control services, and
help protect public health.
