Woman Hit In Face With Sledge Hammer Type Object: Milford Police
The accused is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond. The victim was taken to a hospital.

MILFORD, CT — A Milford man is accused of striking a woman in the face with a "sledge hammer type object," police said. On Dec. 17, officers responded to the Wampus Lane area on a report of a possible domestic violence incident, police said.
Investigation led to the arrest of Thomas Devine, 46, of Wampus Lane, who is accused of striking a female in the face with a "small sledge hammer type object," police said. The victim was taken to a hospital for facial injuries, police said.
Devine was found a short time later hiding in the wooded area of Wampus Lane, police said. Police also learned that Devine had an active warrant for trespassing on a city housing authority property on Oct. 1, police said.

Devine is charged with first-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace and first-degree criminal trespass. He was held in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
