Woman Stole $3k Worth Of Items With Child In Tow: Milford PD
A woman stole more than $3,000 worth of goods from Dick's Sporting Goods, police said.
MILFORD, CT — A West Haven woman was charged after she stole more than $3,000 worth of items from Dick's Sporting Goods while with a young child, according to police.
Officers got a shoplifting report Oct. 24 and were told the suspect fled in a vehicle. The vehicle was located with four flat tires on Research Drive.
A loss prevention officer told police that the woman, later identified as Ashley Swiatowiec, 31, entered the store with a young boy in a shopping cart. She then put items in the cart and left the store without paying, police said.

Mall security tried to stop her, but she put the child and stolen items in her car and drove away, according to police.
She was charged with third-degree larceny and risk of injury to a minor. Swiatowiec was released on a promise to appear.
