Yale to Operate Rehab Unit Inside Milford Hospital

First things first, Milford Hospital is remaining independent, but it is adding some help for its bottom line.

Yale-New Haven Hospital will operate a 24-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit at Milford Hospital, which will open in May 2015, the Connecticut Post reports.

The unit will treat patients who need extra time to recover after surgery, the Post reports.

The Post reports that for Yale it allows them a place to treat less serious cases and for Milford Hospital it affords them a new line of revenue, which is vital after it sustained a $1.8 million operating loss last year.
