Webb Mountain Discovery Zone is very pleased to announce that it is continuing the second five weeks of “After School Adventures.” This primary school enrichment program utilizes the unique ecosystem of the Discovery Zone to allow students to expend some energy while gaining all the health and educational benefits of being out in nature.
Former Education Coordinator at CT Audubon in Fairfield, Carol Kratzman, who taught the K-1st classes for the initial five weeks on Wednesday’s at 4:15pm, has been added to Thursday classes for 2nd-5th graders as well. Park Director Tom Ellbogen commented, “We are pleased to continue to expand Carol’s teaching and programming role for the Discovery Zone. Her unique ability for engaging and exciting children in science and nature was evident immediately and we are very excited to offer a similar program for parents with older elementary aged students for the second five weeks of the program.”
Offered at 4:15pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, each weekly hour-long program will feature a unique adventure along the trails. The five-week session begins on May 14th for K and 1st graders and on May 15th and 16th for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. Each 5-week block of programs is available for $35 per child.
