After School Adventures Returns for Spring!

After School Nature Program

Webb Mountain Discovery Zone is very pleased to announce that it is offering “After School Adventures” again this spring. Our After School Adventures! primary school enrichment program utilizes the unique and diverse ecosystem of the Discovery Zone to let students expend some energy while gaining all the health and educational benefits of being in nature. We’ll search for salamanders, frogs, turtles and more, equipping our explorers with microscopes, journals and now, digital cameras to record all of our discoveries!!

Tom Ellbogen, Director of the Discovery Zone stated, “Studies are showing children spending time interacting in a natural setting are happier, healthier and are performing better at school. We believe After School Adventures has struck the right balance of guided exploration while allowing for the adventurous spirit inherent in children. We are pleased with the positive response we’ve received last spring and fall and are adding a third class to accommodate that interest.”

Offered at 4:15pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, each weekly hour-long program will feature a unique adventure along the trails. Wednesday’s class is geared toward the Kindergarten and 1st grade students while Tuesday and Friday’s classes are appropriate for students in 2nd through 5th grade. This spring the program will be offered for an eight-week block beginning in mid-April. The cost is $50 per child with an additional discount for siblings.
